celebration of Assumption Day

First of all, my gratitude to everyone who has been been part of my circle at any point in my blogging life. May we all find blogging a meaningful experience.

***

The NDMU community put a halt to classes and work today as it celebrates the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. Although I am not a Catholic but since I'm part of a Catholic Community, I had to be there as part of my duty.

The celebration began with Harana to the statues of Mary and St. Marcellin Champagnat.

The women offered flowers to Mary,

while the men sang to Champagnat.

After the Mass, the students, together with the personnel, cleaned up the streets around the university as part of its community service.

***

I noticed something something diiferent about this year's celebration. It wasn't like any one we did before. This time, I noticed the active participation of the guards. Take a look at these pics:

when i was still a student (ack! i'm sooo ancient), we used to do these things in school. we have school programs wherein we symbolically offer flowers and prayers for the blessed virgin mary.

ay na-miss ko tuloy.

Really enjoyed the photo journey to the place I visited in MAy this year. I even recognized someone in one of the pics..!! Brings back many vivid and happy memories of being there in Koronadal/Marbel. Thanks again; I hope to check in again to see more.
