I wanted to share this with you last Tuesday but unfortunately, I wasn't able to.
I guess I haven't told you yet that the building that houses our office is under renovation. We will be moving to the second floor as soon as the construction is completed. Meantime, we have to endure the dust, the noise, the hassles, and all that.
Last Tuesday, something happened, a case of miscalculation. While the workers were bringing down a portion of the wall in the second floor, the mechanism that were intended to prevent the debris from hitting the wall of our office below didn't work. So, a huge chunk of concrete hit our window--glass, airconditioning, unit, photocopier, and my table. The aircon smashed on the photocopier and landed on my glass-covered table.
That block of concrete was just part of what destroyed thas window near my workstation. That corrugated sheet was placed there after it happened to prevent falling debris and dust from entring our office. The physical plant quickly fixed the problem, in fairness. So, it's fine now.
What was so good about it was that it happened when I decided to go out of the office to take some pictures. My workstation is just a few feet away from the damaged area. If I were there, I could have been or injured--or worse, dead--by now. I was saved from a tragedy for the second time! (Read the other incident here.) I feel the Divine Hand working.

By the way, I have a new picture on >>Digital Detours.

oo nga...actually, going out to take pictures wasn't part of my duty that day. I just realized that one of the layouts I was doing wouldn't be complete without the pictures I had in mind. There was supposed to be another time for picture-taking but, I dunno, that morning I felt the "itch" to take shots outside. | |
