there'll be new seven wonders of the world
Teachers would have new things to teach their kids after July 7, 2007 as the New Open World Foundation plans to announce the new seven wonders of the world on the lucky 7 date. According to Alternative Approaches, the campaign started in September 1999 with a website by Swiss businessman Bernard Weber.
I, and my blog buddy, Aethen, want to share with you this list of competitors. Its just sad that none of these come from the Philippines. Our humble Banaue Rice Terraces did not make it to the list. Sad.
07.07.07 is fast approaching. You, too, should cast your votes now to be part of the history. Here's how: N7W.
This is copy-pasted from Alternative Approaches (the pictures are from Google search):
Originally the Pyramids of Giza had to compete against the others in the election, but after criticism in Egypt, they were removed from the election list and made an honorary candidate. The 10 other candidates are:
1. The Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto, Japan
2. The Kremlin, Red Square, and Saint Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, Russia
3. Machu Picchu in Cuzco, Peru
4. Neuschwanstein Castle in Füssen, Germany
5. Petra in Jordan
6. The Statue of Liberty in New York City, United States
7. Stonehenge in Amesbury, United Kingdom
8. Sydney Opera House in Australia
9. The Taj Mahal in Agra, India
Visit Aethen to see the other ten.

the Banaue Rice Terraces was nominated as one of the 7 wonders of the world but the experts screened the nominated wonders earlier and come up with 21 deserving spots. so sad lng that BRT was not included.
Visit www.aethen.co.nr to know the other 11 spots. | |

@quinkoy and tanom: Oo nga. Chocolate Hills nga pala, no? They have experts naman daw kasi, who evaluated the sites....haay..
@mykl: sure. magpo-provide ka naman cguro ng link back
@trish: Only the pyramids in Egypt na lang daw kasi ang still existing dun sa lumang seven. Marami din namang criticism if you'll research more about this topic...
