Secret for Successful Marketing
ONE OF my co-teachers here have been involved so many business ventures but he failed in most of them. He has had an outlet in the public market, which eventually had to close. He had other ventures, too, in which, as I said, he did not make it big.
I asked him recently about it and he told me what he lacked -- a sturdy system. He did not systematize his business from production to promotion and marketing. He did business the traditional way, in other words.
He is amenable to it. In fact, he is glad that adopted the system of an established firm and localized it to suit his local clients.
It is the same system that my friend introduced to me and wanted me to take part of it. But I said, it is not one my priorities as of this time and I couldn't commit myself to it. The firm is recognized worldwide but they work on the person-to-person level. It might work, but not very conclusively.
Recently, I encountered a firm of similar structure. But unlike the former, this one knows email marketing and uses it to widen their client base. I received an email inviting me to be one of the team leaders. It's cool because I understand that in this kind of business structure, if you belong to the pioneering group, you have great chances at earning big. However, I am not quite sure if I have time to travel meet them personally--the big boss is coming to the Philippines in February.
I'm interested in the company. But only if my job description would be a bit different from what they are offering me. What I could do for them is maybe just to operate their email marketing software so I could just work at home. You know. I am a teacher and because of that my mobility is quite limited. I could not just fly to Cebu or Manila whenever I want. I have classes to attend and students to attend to. In other words, I work day and night. Even on weekends. So, definitely, it's not the job for me.
Speaking of email marketing, I have come across a bulk email marketing software. It is robust and reliable. It's fast, too. What is good about this software is that it enables everyone to create stunning email campaigns. It has auto email responders so you don't have to attend to each and every email all the time. Furthermore, it enables you to analyze which campaign is effective and solicits positive response from the recipients. You can also have target your contacts and make your email marketing efficient.
They actually have a demo here. Check it out.

Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools
IN MY quest of improving my site's standing on Google Search Engine, I have just discovered these features on Google that I hope would be helpful. I just signed up on Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools.
I have been hearing about these in the past but I just didn't pay attention because I didn't understand what they are for. Although, even now, I still can't figure out quite well how these stuff work. There is no harm in trying I suppose.
I'll be posting reports on what improvements I would be able to make about my blogs with the help of Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools.
Wish me luck.

The Pacquiao-dela Hoya Fight Effect
I'VE HAD several attempts at doing SEO. Well, with my limited access to the internet I can't really get into the full blast of it as evidenced by my low income. However, I enjoy it when I earn some traffic due to some posts.
One experience that really amazed me is the result of the Pacquiao-dela Hoya post I made on two of my blogs: Pacquiao-dela Hoya fight Video and Pacquiao-dela Hoya video replay. They were just trial posts. Sort of experiment. I actually, did not real stuff about SEO. I just compied what other SEO bloggers are doing. I did not expect that it would turn out the way it did in the last two days.
There are some things I've learned:
1. Choose your keyword/s very well. And by saying this I mean that you have to use what usually pops in your mind about a certain topic. People who are using the search engines might just think of the same words you thought of. They, too, who would type in what enters their mind the soonest.
2. Uhmm... basically, item number has already summarized what I wanted to say. So, honestly, there is no number two.
3. Be happy to see the numbers grow. That's my way of relieving stress.
4. Never stop doing SEO. The traffic you earn from a particular phenomenal event like the Pacquiao-dela Hoya Fight or Charice Pempengco Concert in Eastwood City Libis are shortlived. They dies down, too, when the fever over them ceases. So, always be on the lookout about what's hot. There are plenty of online tools to help you out.
5. Don't expect much income unless you're have them in your account already. So you won't be hurt.
That's all folks. Wishing myself (and you, too!) financial success!

Grab the Chance: Earn from Pacquiao-dela Hoya fight!
EVERYONE'S EARNING from the Dream Match: Manny Pacquiao vs. dela Hoya. What are you waiting for? Ride the bandwagon!
Seriously, it really does sound like that. This fight is no different than a hollywood production. Only it gets more media attention. That's how it seems. You know who makes money out of it.
But there's one opinion that I found interesting. Manny Pacquiao is doing this in preparation for his candidacy in my province. Rumor has it that Manny is running joining the gubernatorial race in 2010. In fact, since a few months ago, he's trying to establish a presence here, making donations here and there, throwing away giveaways to people in the streets, etc. Manny really has a lot of catching up to do if he decides to go against our current governor. Our governor has shown an excellent performance since and well, he comes from a wealthy family.
Sometimes, I envy Manny. But most of the time, I don't. I'll tell you why soon. Probably, after figuring out why I'd rather think Twilight the Movie is a bad movie than otherwise.
By the way, GenSanExchange.com will be showing a live video streaming of the Pacquiao vs Dela Hoya tomorrow at exactly 10 AM. And video replays of the Pacquiao vs dela Hoya fight will be available on Musika Central.

My Town Doesn't Have a Hospital Yet
WHAT IS really sad about my home town is that, we don't have a hospital yet. Even as it applies to become a city, it certainly isn't good that it doesn't have medical facilities, not even used medical equipment, to cater to the needs of the its 78, 000 people.
According to a Visual-Asia report:
About 92 percent of Filipinos in urban areas and 80 percent in rural areas have access to potable water while 92 percent in urban areas and 71 percent in rural areas have sanitation facilities at home.
The Department of Health reported that the country had 1,794 hospitals with 83,491 beds nationwidein 1999. Only 648 or 36 percent of these hospitals are government-owned while the remaining 1,146 hospitals or 64 percent are privately owned. For every 10,000 Filipinos, there were only 11.2 hospital beds.
Apart from hospitals though, there were other medical establishments in the country.
The Department of Health said that in 1998, there were about 2,405 rural health units and 14,267 barangay health stations in the whole country. There are over 42,000 barangays or villages in the Philippines. Doctors and nurses would visit these rural health units while midwives or nurses would visit the barangay health units at least once a week.
The government health department had in its payroll some 2,848 doctors, 1,713 dentists, 4,389 nurses, and 14,962 midwives as of 1998.
But that is far from enough.
On TV, there was a news story about the outbreak of typhus in Real and Infanta, Quezon. What if such horrible thing happens here? How are we going to take care of our people? Will we just wait for medical products to be donated by some NGO's or rush to the nearest city to avail of medical services?
Maybe, this is the reason why the requirement for city has been raised. If a town can earn as much as P 100 M each year, it could afford to run a public hospital with complete equipment, say, X-Ray machines, CT Scanner, EKG machines, etc. Even just the basic medical equipment will do as long as the needs of the people will be addressed.
I understand that our officials here are doing something. I just wish that they will give priority on establishing a medical facility here. There have been other projects that our local government has worked on, maybe its time for us to see a hospital being built here.
***Actually, I am sick right now. But it's a hassle and it's costly to go to the hospital in the city to have my case checked up. For people like me, and those that are even poorer than me and have illness that are worse that what I have now, going to the hospital is burden. So, they just stay at home, and wait until miracles heal them. But with a hospital in our town, everyone's health will be taken care of.

THERE ARE so many blogs that exist today but many of them do have anything useful to say. It's traffic that they want so they use tactics, good or bad, to drive people into their blogs only to be disappointed by the result of their query.
There are sites in the Philippines that are keyword rich. These blogs come up everytime you use popular search engines. But to your dismay, these blogs do not actually contain the things you are looking. Yes, the keywords are there but they don't actually contain valuable information that you could use.
It's all about money. But I couldn't allow myself to earn that way. That is misleading people and wasting their valuable time. I still believe that if you want to keep your visitors coming, you should always post things that would be relevant for them.

Good news! Charice Pempengco is still making waves in the international music scene! Charice Pempengco joins David Archuleta and other stars in Macy's Thanksgiving Parade!

They call me the technician
IM JUST so amused with myself. No, not really with myself but with how quickly I get to learn how to operate electronic devices even when it's the first time I get hold of such.
When I was in high school, I used to operate our copier. My teacher asked me to help her photocopy some handouts. She didn't know how to operate the machine so I came to help her. I just pretended that I know how but gladly, the task was accomplished just in time.
Other teachers would also ask me to install Printer cartridges. Although I didn't have a personal computer and never had experienced installing printer cartridges I also pretended that I could do it, learning the process while doing it.
One of my classmates also asked me to check what to do with the error messages he gets everytime he uses a particular software. I just explored his toshiba laptop, even if I hadn't had touched one before, and solved his problem.
Now, that I'm already a teacher, I always find myself solving problems that technicians get paid for. They would call me if there are software or hardware problems, which saves us from hiring a technician.
In return, I have one of the school's laptops in my custody. It's like I have my own laptop. That's the perk of being able to learn things quickly. The Acer laptop has a good bag but the Neo's bag is already torn. So, I bought one for it last week.

MONEY ISN'T everything. That is what we've always been taught. But nowadays, it seems that money is of utmost importance to most people. Everyone here seems to be in the grind to earn money. Lots of money, to tell the truth.
This morning, I had a talk with one of my co-teachers and she told me about their plans of going abroad and how far have they gone in terms of the paperwork. She told me that she's determined to finish her Ph. D. here so that she can expect good pay abroad. "What's the use of goind there if you're not gonna earn really much, " she told me.
Another friend confided with me about her business plans. I have business plans, too, so I found our conversation interesting. We talked about making great profits and building better homes for ourselves, owning real properties, cars, and going wherever we want.
So it all boils down to money.
I recalled our sociology class where I learned about Nouveau Riche. They are those who are rich not because they came from a wealthy family. But they got rich probably because of their hardwork, or luck.
That is what we all seem to want to be, Nouveau Riche. Others call it rising from rags to riches.
I don't think it is bad to aspire for something better. Maybe, all we need to do is to keep a healthy set of values in the process and probably, give back to those who have helped us or to help others rise, too.
One notable person I could name who can be considered Nouveau Riche are the Gokonweis. They are tycoons now. But as many of us know, John Gokonwei, himself once peddled newspaper and other stuff for a living. His hardwork and values turned him into a billionaire that he is now, owning large business firms, etc.
The Chiangs, too, of Southern Mindanao had humble beginnings. From a small store in the 1970's, they now own two big malls in General Santos City and Koronadal.
Although money is not the answer to all our needs, but our real happiness could start from there. Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs begins with the physiological aspect. Having money in today's world is quite an assurance for the provision of our basic needs, which, if fulfilled, will allow us to ascend to the next level of happiness.
